Cold But Not Forgotten

Lieutenant Carson, a rural Nevada detective, discovers a woman's lifeless body while at the shooting range with his team. The dead woman is covered in blood—although her corpse reveals no apparent wounds.

As Carson delves into the case, he encounters an interwoven web of suspects. Her dentist husband is having an affair with his office manager, who has been embezzling from him. A marathon partner is jealous of Diane's trophies. Her doctor has been giving her arsenic to scare her into eating better. Kindly, Mrs. Howell, a widowed neighbor of the victim's, had access to her computer and detested the husband.

Everyone says she's the nicest lady in town.
So who would want to kill her?

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

A police officer working the graveyard shift in a small California town discovers a young woman’s body minutes after her murder takes place. In fact, Officer Bob Carson might have seen the truck involved in the incident. It passed him going the other direction. The woman’s body may have been dragged directly past his patrol car while snarled in a mass of chain or rope. All the officer heard through his open window, on that summer night, was a soft dragging noise. He assumed the truck had a mechanical problem. The case becomes an obsession with Carson, agonizing over whether he could have prevented the brutal crime. Now a detective, as similar homicides begin appearing around the country, he identifies a suspect—a long-haul trucker. He launches a media campaign including a likeness of the trucker. When the killer disappears, another trucker of similar appearance turns up murdered. This cannot be a coincidence. The suspect needed to change his ID and killed a fellow trucker to obtain it.

Carson advances to Chief of Investigations in  Elko, NV. Elko’s unit consists of Bob and just one other investigator, Joseph, a local Native American, formerly with a Tribal Police. Joseph and Bob discover a startling clue when Joseph gets direction from his personal spirit animal, his owl. Following the owl, Bob locates a prosthetic eye at a murder scene of a dead woman. He becomes a believer in the owl. Witnesses reported a truck had just left the area.

Finally, Bob’s perseverance pays off. He locates an ocularist in Reno who can identify the maker of the eye. The trip to Reno proves to be life changing, when he meets the love of his life, the ocularist.
Following various clues, Carson travels to Oklahoma, Las Vegas and finally, Oregon. On the rainy, windswept streets of Portland, he brings the killer to justice.

Thus, a serial killer stopped… but is he the right serial killer?

I Just Wanted A Beer

A job-seeking former Army Ranger, hot and tired from his long drive, stops for the night at a Las Vegas Motel. He wants a beer. Across the wide street, an all-night market beckons him. Looking both ways, he starts to run and is immediately struck by an unseen object hurling him high in the air and dropping him to the ground with a mind-numbing thud. He's dragged to safety by a large, verbally complaining, furry black dog.

David Manning's life has changed from that moment forward.

He enters a world known to only a handful of Americans, and a few others. "Area 51", "No Trespassing", "Deadly Force May Be Used".

He is recruited to save the country from treacherous extremists who want to overthrow the current government and rule the country as a dictatorship. Manning has an improbable consortium of team members to assist him in the daunting task of saving democracy.
